Mentoring Services
 |
How Does it Work? |
1. The mentee makes contact with the mentor.
- The first meeting is arranged. This can be face to face, or
by telephone.
2. At the first meeting.
- The agreement should be downloaded and
adapted for the partnership before being signed by both parties.
- The process starts with a self-assessment to determine where
strengths and weaknesses lie. These will inform thinking on
goal setting and also identify where improvements need to take
place in order to reach goals.
- Goals and deadlines having been set, it is up to both the
mentee and the mentor to decide how often meetings will take
place.
- Using this information, goals are set and action plans developed
and implemented. These goals could be career, business or personal.
3. Three to six months into the partnership.
- The achievements so far should be reviewed and the goals and
deadlines reviewed.
- It may be that following this initial period you no longer
need to meet with such regularity. All this can be discussed
and put in the revised agreement.
4. Regular reviews.
- At least every six months achievements, goals and deadlines
should be reviewed.
- These areas should be visible only to the mentee, their mentor
and the project management team.
5. Partnership Beyond.
- Once the Mentoring partnership has been achieved, both parties
should agree to amicably move on into their own development
or further pursue matter of mutual interest. Click here for further guidance.
